Blago Wild Ramble Flashback 2008
Governor Rod Blagojevich’s wild rambling’s today were nothing new. He seems to believe it actually helps him. Below is a quote from a video embedded in a January 2008 article from the Chicago Tribune which includes amazing video of Blagojevich attacking the press while deflecting from the Tony Rezko matter.
BLAGOJEVICH: These are some of the occupational hazards that go along with being in politics. Those of us who are candidates who run for office, we presume and hope that people who are helping us, are doing things honestly and forthrightly, and then sometimes there are allegations to suggest that maybe not, and then you deal with all the incoming that comes along with it— whether you’re the governor of a state like Illinois or presidential candidate, or an attorney general or a lieutenant governor or a speaker of the house, or even republicans who have also been the beneficiaries of some of Mr.Rezko’s help.”
So let’s see how it all plays out and have faith and confidence in our criminal justice system and again we have these liberties and we these protections for individual liberties because of our brave veterans who keep our country safe and give us the ability to live in a free country that hopefully will pursue justice.
And again not to keep tweaking you, but you guys will have a thicker newspaper and people will watch your TV shows more in the news if you actually put some news on there that impacts and matters to people and here we have a program that is significant in terms of helping our returning veterans.
And I hope you write a story that’s at least the size of what you are gonna write about the questions that you just asked me. If were a betting man I’m not so sure you will
